Street Smarts VR is a company that develops virtual reality training systems for law enforcement and military personnel. The company's VR technology allows users to train in hundreds of real-life scenarios, including active shooter situations, room clearing, and crime scene processing. Street Smarts VR's system employs motion capture technology and mission-relevant data, along with real-world replica weapon loadouts to enhance training realism. In 2024, the company added content on responding to mental health calls for service, developed in collaboration with mental health professionals to ensure accurate depiction of these situations. The Street Smarts VR system is endorsed by the FBI as the gold standard for active shooter training and includes pre-made, scripted scenarios for this purpose. The company's technology aims to modernize equipment and improve personnel proficiency in line with strategic plans such as the USF Security Forces Enterprise Plan 2020.
