eSpark is a personalized online learning platform that provides math and reading curriculum to K-5 students. It develops lesson plans for elementary school students using real-time data backed by research and a team of former teachers. Every focused reading and math lesson contains a practice game, a quiz to demonstrate competence, and an instructional video to teach the skill. In addition, it offers eSpark Quest, a personalized, adaptive pathway that students can work on during center time, as homework, or after finishing their teacher-assigned lesson. These quests include direct instruction and practice activities to teach students key standards through entertaining videos, games, activities, and quizzes. It also provides educators with student progress and activity reports and daily social emotional learning (SEL) insights. As of December 2022, the platform served more than 1 million students and 20,000 teachers (per week).
The platform claimed that its solution has been adopted by one in every four elementary schools in the US.
Funding and financials
In January 2022, the company raised USD 25 million in a funding round led by Quad Partners. It planned to use the funds to expand its team, develop new products, and expand its market reach.
