Lattice Medical is a French biomedical company that specializes in tissue engineering and 3D printing to develop innovative implantable medical devices for soft tissue regeneration. Their flagship product is Mattisse, a 3D-printed, fully resorbable breast implant designed for breast reconstruction after mastectomy. Mattisse is a porous, bioabsorbable cage that allows natural regeneration of the patient's own adipose tissue from a small harvested flap near the breast area. Once implanted, it regenerates a vascularized fat flap within six months, after which the implant gradually dissolves over 18 months, leaving only the patient's regenerated tissue. This simplified autologous reconstruction procedure avoids the need for complex microsurgery, extensive scarring, and risks associated with permanent implants.
Lattice Medical also offers Lattice Services, launched in 2020, which provides medical-grade 3D printing filaments, custom filament extrusion services, and implant design and prototyping services for other medical device companies. The company has secured multiple awards and grants, including from the French government's innovation initiatives and the European Innovation Council Accelerator program. After successful preclinical studies and design validations, Mattisse entered its first human clinical trial in Georgia in July 2022, with a broader multinational trial named TIDE currently underway since September 2023 in France.
