Germany-based Neotiv has developed an app, called “neotivCare,” which provides digital tests for patients experiencing cognitive decline. The app, which is CE certified as a class I medical device, measures an individual’s degree of “Mild Cognitive Impairment” (an indicator for Alzheimer's disease) and incorporates clinical staff, health plans, and pharmacies to provide care throughout a patient’s journey. The cognitive tests mainly consist of memory-related tasks that are simple and straightforward. An example test has users look at an image of a room with objects in them, and remember what the objects were and their positions in the room. Users are timed and their results are presented after each task.
The app’s cognitive tests have been used in 5,250 cases in care programs, research, and clinical trial settings.
