ShelfX develops retrofit kits to convert fridges, freezer, or shelving fixtures into smart cabinets. A smart fixture equipped with ShelfX can be opened tapping the preferred payment method of the customer. ShelfX uses weight sensing technology to identify the items picked up by the customer and automatically charges their selected method of payment. ShelfX supports a range of payment options, including credit and debit cards, mobile app, NFC devices, Apple Pay, and QR codes, and can integrate other optional payment methods such as fingerprint and facial recognition.
ShelfX tracks inventory levels in real time using weight sensing technology and is supported by a cloud-based software platform that enables store managers to track and manage store operations via a mobile application. Other features of ShelfX include email alerts to track unauthorized access and temperature changes, analytics reports, and promotional features such as BOGO deals, combo meals, and other special discounts.
ShelfX also offers “Sonic,” an inventory monitoring device that can be attached to a bin or dispenser to track inventory levels of products, such as beans and cereal. The company also develops “Gravity,” a weight sensor that can be kept at the bottom of a shelf to track inventory levels.
