CareCar is a senior home care services platform offering benefits, including Activities of Daily Living (ADL), Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs), home assessments, transport, and modifications. The platform connects elderly members and caregivers based on the benefit requirements of each member.
CareCar’s transport service provides medical transportation, and drivers are paid on a shift basis, on average earning USD 21/hour. Furthermore, all CareCar drivers are Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and have completed CPR and first-aid training. The company’s network of Care Partners is approved and certified by CareCar to deliver services to members. The majority of the caregivers are nursing students, medical assistants, or home health aides.
In April 2021, CareCar had plans to expand its services to new markets, focusing on the fast-growing senior homecare market. Additionally, the company had plans to increase its members to 500,000 and expand its network of Care Partners by 500.
Key customers and partnerships
In December 2019, the company partnered with the national platform Brand New Day (a subsidiary of Universal Care, Inc.), a comprehensive Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug Health Plan for members in California. Through this partnership, the members will have unlimited rides and better access to healthcare. The partnership will enable CareCar to provide a comprehensive service for elderly members beyond a traditional transportation unit. As of April 2021, CareCar had approximately 150,000 members in California and North Carolina.
