Based in Taiwan, CyberLink offers a wide range of software solutions including AI-based facial recognition, digital content creation, multimedia playback, video and photo editing, and other mobile applications. The company owns over 200 patented technologies with more than 400 million software and apps shipped globally as of April 2022.
CyberLink’s FaceMe facial recognition platform–which includes one-to-one and one-to-many recognition, video analytics, and people grouping–targets retail, banking, security, surveillance, smart home, smart building, and smart city applications. FaceMe was introduced in the US in 2019, after launching pilot retail programs in Taiwan and Japan. The company claims that FaceMe is one of the most accurate facial recognition solutions globally with an estimated accuracy of 99.73% without face masks and 98.5% with masks on, further validated by being ranked among the top 10 in both one-to-one and one-to-many facial recognition categories globally in the facial recognition vendor test (FRVT) performed by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). FaceMe is also certified for iBeta level 2 for anti-spoofing technology.
The company has partnered with several hardware integrators like Nvidia, Intel, Qualcomm, and Mediatek to ensure seamless deployment in internet of things (IoT) and artificial intelligence of things (AIoT) applications. The company also introduced a facial recognition application programming interface (API) for developers in April 2022 to integrate CyberLink’s facial recognition technology into any system, workflow, or IoT solution, using the new HTTP-based API coupled with other management and testing tools.
