Netherlands-based Blue Sky Analytics is a geospatial data intelligence company developing API-based environmental datasets by leveraging satellite data, AI, and machine learning. The company offers off-the-shelf and bespoke insights for ESG investing and climate risk assessment. This includes carbon emissions data such as air quality, water pollution, heat stress and climate risk data such as flood, drought, and wildfire.
The company’s data can be accessed via its visualization platform SpaceTime, a digital twin of the planet Earth. In October 2019, the company launched a mobile app, BreeZo, to provide real-time air pollution data across 200 locations in India. Blue Sky Analytics is also developing Zuri—to map farm and forest fires—and Zorro—to monitor industrial emissions.
Key customers and partnerships
Blue Sky Analytics, together with International Energy Agency (IEA), Dalberg, Clean Air Fund, and Parisar are building the world's largest geospatial data refinery. The company has plans to increase its geographical footprint across the Netherlands and the US. As of November 2022, the company was yet to commercialize its platform and had conducted pilot stage testing.
Funding and financials
In July 2020, Blue Sky Analytics raised USD 1.2 million in a seed funding round led by BEENEXT. The proceeds were to be used to fund product development activities.
