Headquartered in California, Squishy Robotics develops mobile sensing robots for space exploration applications, remote monitoring, and emergency response. It is a spinoff of UC Berkeley's NASA-funded research to construct planetary probes for space exploration, which could orbit a planet, drop to the surface, and survive to provide scientific monitoring. The startup’s technology could also be used in other sectors on Earth such as disaster response, military applications, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and package delivery.
As of 2024, Squishy Robotics’ robotics portfolio comprised the Stationary Robot Platform and the Robotics Payloads Option, which includes the 4-Gas PLUS sensor, the Steerable Pan-Tilt Camera, the Comms PLUS Radio and Repeaters, and the Custom Payload. The Stationary Robot Platform offers customized payload capabilities, with a 400 ft wireless wireless range and a maximum drop height of 1,000 ft.
