Alertive Healthcare

Alertive Healthcare (previously known as Sentinel Healthcare) is a digital healthcare platform that started as a remote monitoring platform for hypertension (Alertive had 500 patients with hypertension as of January 2019) and later expanded the coverage for several chronic diseases. Patients can sign up using the app and can link their remote monitoring devices to the profile. Alertive continuously monitors, analyzes the data, and alerts the providers in the event medical action is required. The service can also be integrated with electronic health records.

Alertive’s platform is designed to monitor the heart, brain, kidney, and lungs, and recently started monitoring for symptoms related to Covid-19 (the mobile app also supports contact tracing for Covid-19). Vitals tracked include blood pressure, pulse, glucose levels, body temperature, and oxygen saturation. The company claims that it has been able to reduce the risk of its user’s heart attacks and strokes by 50%. In July 2020, Alertive partnered with healthcare provider Vituity, to administer its remote care programs for patients returning home following hospital discharge. As part of the collaboration, Vituity and Alertive will develop a platform that facilitates patient monitoring and telehealth.

Alertive was acquired by Carbon Health, a California-based prevention-focused primary care provider, in October 2021. Carbon plans to expand its existing offering to multiple chronic diseases by integrating Alertive’s RPM tools into its omnichannel model and expanding its home-based care service.
