Knox Financial offers an automated platform that handles tasks related to rental properties, such as leasing and legal, tenant and property care, finances and taxes, and banking and bill payments. As of April 2021, the company operated in seven states in the country, managing hundreds of rental properties with a combined value of more than USD 100 million.
The company claims that its platform can help landlords save on operating expenses, making their properties more profitable. To estimate the rate of return that rental properties can generate over time, Knox has built a proprietary rental pricing and projection model. Moreover, Knox said that its interest is aligned with that of landlords because it takes a slice of rental incomes generated by the properties. This means that the company generates no revenue if the properties are vacant or tenants do not pay rent.
In April 2021, the company raised USD 10 million in a Series A funding round led by G20 Ventures. The new funds will be used to expand its geographical reach and market the platform to more users.
