Torch.AI is a defense-focused AI software company that facilitates the use of AI to process data in-flight, enhancing analytic and operational capabilities across IT environments. Its flagship product, Nexus, is a data infrastructure software platform that enables rapid autonomous ingestion and processing of unstructured and multi-modal data. Nexus integrates government and commercial datasets, making data machine-readable without human intervention. It standardizes data, reducing file sizes and extracting relevant knowledge while creating a data mesh that eliminates duplicates and provides the most efficient access to required information.

The company's modular AI platform extracts information from various data formats such as forms, videos, images, sensors, files, documents, emails, and notes. These solutions require minimal configuration for data integration and model creation, enabling rapid development, deployment, and production use. Torch.AI's capabilities have been deployed across multiple government agencies, significantly enhancing data processing security, speed, and quality.

In January 2022, Torch.AI acquired B23, a maritime surveillance company, to bolster its offerings in the national security domain. 

Key customers and partnerships

In August 2022, the company was awarded a five-year agreement by the US Navy's Digital Warfare Office to provide AI and data infrastructure software capabilities for naval forces. It also secured a contract to implement the System for Insider Threat Hindrance (SITH) for the Pentagon, combating insider threats through AI-powered data processing.

In July 2024, Torch.AI partnered with Carahsoft, a government IT solutions provider, to distribute its software platform to the public sector, making it accessible through Carahsoft's reseller partners and contracts.
