Cambridge Spark provides apprenticeships, training and assessment, and recruitment in the fields of data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning, using its proprietary AI-powered platform, K.A.T.E. (Knowledge Assessment Teaching Engine). The apprenticeships allow candidates to upskill or reskill themselves into new technical roles, such as data analyst, data scientist, and machine learning engineer. The apprenticeships serve as a professional entry-level route and a means of bridging skills gaps. The company also provides EDUKATE.AI, a learning management system (LMS), for organizations to create interactive and adaptive learning experiences when training data scientists and software developers.
In April 2019, Cambridge Spark was awarded GBP 1.4 million (USD 1.9 million) in funding from Innovate UK to enhance the K.A.T.E. platform, and broaden its commercial reach.
In January 2021, BRC Learning, the British Retail Consortium’s educational arm, partnered with the company to develop the Level 7 apprenticeship in Data Science and Machine Learning, an MSc Level qualification for advanced data analytics. The course will be funded by the Apprenticeship Levy, a levy on UK employers to fund new apprenticeships.
