Solidia Technologies is a cement and concrete technology solution provider offering sustainable building materials. Solidia has two core technologies: 1) sustainable cement manufacturing technology that reacts with carbon dioxide (CO2) to produce calcium carbonate and silica and 2) sustainable concrete curing technology that cures cement with CO2 instead of water. Solidia states that it has the potential to eliminate 1.5 gigatons of CO2 per year.
Solidia Technologies is building a 53,000 sq ft plant in Elmendorf, Texas, to produce pavers and concrete masonry units using its innovative Solidia Cement technology. The plant is expected to start operations in Q3 2024 and will offer high-performance concrete products with a reduced carbon footprint. In October 2023, the company launched a new pilot line to increase production of its proprietary supplementary cementitious material (SCM), Solidia SCM, by 25x to expand field testing and accelerate the material's commercial production.
Key customers and partnerships
In October 2023, Solidia Technologies partnered with 3Degrees to manage the measurement, verification, and sale of GHG emission benefits generated from Solidia's decarbonization technologies for cement and concrete production.
Funding and financials
In April 2021, the company raised USD 78 million in a funding round led by Imperative Ventures and Zero Carbon Partners. The proceeds were to be used to support the development and deployment of Solidia’s technologies.
