Center offers a physical business expense card issuing platform for businesses. The expense cards (powered by Mastercard) - and complementing expense management software - automate the expense reporting and accounting processes in real time, while also providing insights to optimize spending (identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies). It automates the accounting process by enabling integrations with commonly used financial software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, and Sage Intacct. 

Users can also set custom limits and approval policies for the cards to control expenses, and can also issue purchase cards, business travel cards, and fleet cards to their employees.  

Center does not charge its users for issuing business expense cards and instead generates revenue from interchange fees charged from the merchant when payments are made using Center cards.

Key customers and partnerships

The company caters to businesses of all sizes (ranging 50-1,000 employees) and focuses on several industries, including construction, field services, manufacturing, non-profits, and professional services. Its customers include FleeGenius, Mammoth Holdings, Ducky Johnson, and The Kent Companies as of April 2022. 

In October 2023 , Center incorporated travel features into its core real-time expense solution in partnership with Spotnana's travel-as-a-service platform. The new travel management experience integrates travel and expense policies, providing real-time visibility into spending.

Funding and financials In December 2023, Center raised USD 30 million in Series C funding led by Top Tier Capital Partners to accelerate innovation, including creating an open platform catering to both vertical software developers and financial institutions.
