Trellis Technologies is an InsurTech that offers an automated pre-fill solution called Trellis Connect for property and casualty insurers via an API. It works by connecting to a customer’s existing insurance account by simply using their username and password and obtaining nearly 100 permissioned data points required for providing quotes, automating the application process, and better underwriting.

In addition, the company offers an end-to-end embedded insurance marketplace called Savvy for financial institutions and other fintechs to offer personal insurance lines such as auto and home insurance. Savvy can be integrated with a company’s platform through an API, SDK widget, or hyperlink, and it also incorporates Trellis Connect.

Key customers and partnerships

The company reported that it had connected over 1.4 million insurance accounts using Trellis Connect and had more than 9 million visitors for Savvy as of August 2022. In addition, it reported that over 150 insurers were using Savvy as of the same date, including four of the top five digital banks and seven of the top 50 personal finance apps.

Funding and financials

The company received USD 5 million in venture funding from Amex Ventures in May 2022. It had earmarked the fresh capital for growth.
