Coast Autonomous develops full-stack autonomous driving software and technology pitched toward cities, campuses, airports, theme parks etc. for autonomous transportation of people and goods. The company’s product portfolio consists of 1) “Coast P-1,” an autonomous shuttle designed to operate in cities and campuses; 2) an autonomous utility vehicle for the rail yard, industrial sites, airports, campus, and city center deliveries; and 3) an autonomous golf cart. Its tech involves mapping and localization, robotics and AI, fleet management, and supervision systems. It offers autonomous vehicles on a mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) basis and also software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions to retrofit customers’ fleets with autonomous driving technology. The company has offices in California, Florida, France, the UK, and the Philippines.

Key customers and partnerships

The company has partnerships with, 1) Florida’s Saint Leo University to deploy Coast P-1 autonomous shuttles within the university premises (February 2020); and Kalmar, cargo handling equipment provider, to integrate self-driving tech across Kalmar’s equipment offerings starting with its terminal tractor (January 2022).
