Pumpkin Inc. specializes in developing hardware solutions for nanosatellites and CubeSats. Its main product offerings are as follows:
1) BM2, a high-power Li-ion battery module designed specifically for nanosatellites. The module uses a coulomb-counting battery supervisor to report the battery's state of charge (SoC) at all times. It can deliver up to 160W of power and store up to 100Wh of energy, making it suitable for high-power nanosatellite applications. The BM two also features intelligent circuitry that provides multiple levels of protection and advanced features such as Intelligent Charge Override (ICO) for efficient charging.
2) GPSRM 1, a GPS receiver module that combines the NovAtel OEM615V GPS receiver with Pumpkin's SupMCU. The module supports multiple GPS bands and constellations and includes a built-in orbit propagator that allows the spacecraft to propagate its position and velocity between GPS fixes at lower power. The GPSRM also has a micro-USB connector for terrestrial development and testing and is COCOM-unblocked for use in space.
3) CubeSat structures made of sheet metal (pioneered the use in 2000), offering solid wall and skeletonized versions with various base and cover plate assemblies to accommodate different separation switches, external payload, and antenna mounting options. These structures are designed to provide a high strength-to-weight ratio, maximize internal volume, and minimize the use of fasteners.
4) EPS module offers a low-cost linear solution for prototyping and testing purposes. The module can be charged via any USB connection to a CubeSat kit and provides 10–20Wh of stored energy at battery voltage, 5Vdc, and 3.3Vdc through linear regulators. It also features an LED bar graph for at-a-glance battery status monitoring.
5) Standard and custom solar panels, including compact, deployable arrays for CubeSats, using carbon composite cores.
It also provides the Salvo RTOS for developing low-cost, memory-constrained embedded systems.
