Avertium

Avertium is a cybersecurity startup formed in 2019 through a merger of three cybersecurity firms owned by private equity firm Sunstone Partners. Avertium provides managed security solutions to medium-sized and large organizations, with two security operations centers (SOCs) in Tennessee and Arizona providing 24/7 response services. In addition to managed detection and response (MDR), Avertium offers compliance assessments as well as security training and advisory.

The firm’s Fusion Managed Extended Detection and Response (MXDR) product combines automated threat detection and response with a human team to ensure vulnerabilities are addressed before they are exploited, and threats are mitigated as soon as they are detected. The company claims Fusion MXDR is the first MDR offering that provides end-to-end cybersecurity coverage.

The firm also offers digital forensics and incident response services for identifying the root cause of attacks and to mitigate damage.

In September 2020, Avertium acquired 1440 Security, a managed security firm with a SOC based in Colorado. The acquisition expanded Avertium’s XDR portfolio and threat detection capabilities.
