Brave Care, a spin-off of seed accelerator company Y Combinator, specializes in primary and urgent care for children aged 17 years and below. It delivers care virtually via its Brave Care Parent mobile app and in person at its four brick-and-mortar clinics ( as of May 2024).
The app allows parents to connect with providers, book same-day in-clinic or virtual appointments, and check symptoms. Brave Care's services include primary care, urgent care, mental health care, and specialist referrals. Further, its clinics feature an integrated approach where children's medical records and health history are securely maintained in a centralized system.
Funding and financials
In October 2021, the company raised USD 25 million in a Series B funding round led by the national medical group Mednax, Inc. Following the funding round, Brave Care partnered with Mednax’s pediatric care program Pediatrix to expand its operations across the US.
