Molecule.one is a Polish AI-based drug design and molecule synthesis startup. It operates a cloud-based computational chemistry platform that assists drug developers in accelerating the discovery process by leveraging AI to design synthesis pathways and create molecules.

The company’s approach to converting a structure to synthesis is based on three steps: 1) draw and edit molecular structures using its Molecular Editor, 2) design synthesis and identify the success rate, 3) view results and recommendations. Molecule.one also pitched at the TechCrunch Startup Battlefield in 2019, becoming the first startup from the Central and Eastern European region to do so. 

Its product offerings include 1) M1 RetroScore powered by CAS, which uses machine-learning models to predict the likelihood of synthesis for novel molecules, and 2) Loop, which uses AI with high-throughput experimentation laboratory to solve chemistry problems.

Key customers and partnerships

In August 2023 , Molecule.one partnered with CAS, a division of the American Chemical Society, to combine technologies and develop solutions for chemical synthesis planning. 

Funding and financials

The company raised USD 4.6 million in a seed funding round led by Atmos Ventures in June 2021 . The funds were used to grow its team and open new offices in the US and Western Europe.
