Just Auto Insurance provides digital usage-based insurance in the state of Arizona, where it officially launched in March 2020. The company uses a hybrid of pay-per-mile and behavior-based inputs to determine pricing. The company’s pricing model is based on their own in-house telematics model which is backed by behavior data from more than 12,000 drivers. Policyholders pay for insurance based on how much they drive with rates determined using driving behavior data collected from smartphone sensors. During FY2020, Just Auto Insurance recorded direct written premiums of USD 101,363.
In September 2021, the company reported that its revenue had grown 1,400% year-over-year (YoY) while total policies issued grew by 10x over the same period. During the same month, the company announced that it raised USD 8 million in funding, co-led by CrossCut Ventures, ManchesterStory, and Western Technology Investments. The funds will be directed towards scaling its operations, developing new products, and expanding into new states.
