Bond Vet operates veterinary clinics that offer walk-in appointments and online booking via website and mobile app. As of October 2021, it operated seven clinics in New York City and one in Long Island, with plans to open a ninth in Williamsburg. Bond Vet originally had plans to offer telehealth services to its customers in the longer term; however, the project was accelerated amid the Covid-19 pandemic due to increased demand for telehealth services. In March 2020, the company started offering 20-minute video consultations for USD 50 to provide better access to veterinarians and to limit clinic visits to emergencies only. Bond Vet uses proprietary software for customer-facing apps to streamline the back-end workflow processes for its team of 100 employees as of November 2020. By October 2021, Bond Vet had served more than 40,000 pets since the launch of its first clinic in June 2019.
Bond Vet received a USD 170-million investment from Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm focused on growth investing, in October 2021. The funds will be used to expand Bond Vet’s presence and to invest in equipment, training, culture, and technology to improve the clinical experience for stakeholders.
