Ethyca

Ethyca provides a platform that enables organizations to automate data discovery, classification, subject rights management, consent management, data governance, data protection impact assessments, monitoring, and reporting. Ethyca works with companies such as Away, IDEO, and InVision, along with several other large tech companies, banks, and small businesses.

In June 2020, the company launched a self-service tool that enables businesses to sign up and have a running privacy management solution quickly. The company also provides a front-end solution that allows users to manage consent for the collection of their data. Any change made by the user is applied to their data automatically throughout the organization. The company also open-sourced its internally developed tools called Fides that will allow developers to build privacy tools and monitoring mechanisms directly into their code.

In 2021, Ethyca launched Fides, an open-source privacy engineering platform. Fides is a human-readable description language that allows developers to write code with privacy designed into it, enabling them to locate privacy-related information throughout the software development process. Ethyca's goal is to make privacy a default feature of every tech stack, moving beyond mere legal compliance to build systems that respect user privacy and restore trust in the internet.
