Fren-based Circular has developed a smart ring, the second-generation of which is known as the Circular Ring Slim which was priced at EUR 234 as of November 2023. This is claimed to be the thinnest and lightest health wearable at 2.2 mm thickness and 2 grams of weight.
The Circular Ring Slim houses a three-axis accelerometer, a surface temperature sensor, and advanced PPG sensors designed to capture data such as heart and respiratory rates, blood oxygen levels, and physical activity. It tracks health data during both day and night, can be worn 24/7, and possesses a 20-day memory plus a five-day battery life. The ring also features haptic alerts and is controlled by tapping.
The device uses AI assistant Kira+ for personalized health analysis and advice, including custom fitness plans based on initial data gathered within a 14-day window. The smart ring also syncs with other health apps like Google Fit and Apple HealthKit.
Funding and financials
The company’s latest funding round was in April 2023 where it raised an undisclosed amount.
