Tombot creates robotic emotional support animals (in the design of puppies) for people who face health adversities such as dementia, stress, anxiety, loneliness, or depression. Tombot puppies are designed to look and behave like real Labrador puppies, with realistic fur, movements, and sounds using recordings of a 12 week-old Labrador puppy. The robotic puppies can respond to touch, voice, and commands, and provide companionship to users. Tombot puppies are also rechargeable, customizable, and updatable through a smartphone app. The company claims that the robotic puppy is scientifically engineered to treat symptoms of mental illness. The company is still developing its robots, but allows individuals to join a waitlist, purchasing a robotic puppy for USD 399 for delivery when released.
