Boston Micro Fabrication, also known as BMF Precision, offers 3D printers, software, and materials for micro-scale additive manufacturing (AM), targeting medical devices, electronics, microfluids, miniature mechanical structures, and educational and research activities. It also offers on-demand AM services.
The company's microArch series of printers, which uses patented Projection Micro Stereolithography technology, covers 2μm, 10μm, and 25μm, indicating the size options available as well as print resolutions. BMF offers a range of AM polymer and ceramic materials including liquid polymers or other materials like GR, HEK, HTL, and UTL, which come with property options like stiffness, strength, and flexibility.
In October 2024, Boston Micro Fabrication expanded material compatibility for its microArch 3D printers with the launch of four new high-performance resins. The new materials include 3D Systems Figure 4 HI TEMP 300-AMB, BASF Ultracur3D 3280, HTF (High-Temp), and SR (Sacrificial Resin). These materials offer various properties such as high-temperature resistance, exceptional stiffness, biocompatibility, and solubility for sacrificial molds.
Key customers and partnerships
Some of BMF's customers include medical-focused micro molder Isometric Micro Molding (January 2022) and electronic components supplier Sunway Communication (May 2022). The company also developed product partnerships with UK-based 3D printing materials company 4D Biomaterials (December 2021).
