AerospaceLab is a Belgian company that develops and manufactures satellite platforms, avionics subsystems, and turnkey satellite solutions, primarily for Earth observation. Its Versatile Satellite Platform (VSP) is a small satellite platform designed to be adaptable to various payloads.

The company provides standalone or integrated avionics subsystems to improve satellite performance for integrators. AerospaceLab integrates Earth observation payloads with the VSP and its subsystems to deliver comprehensive turnkey satellite solutions for collecting actionable data in low Earth orbit.

AerospaceLab offers support services for the Launch Early Orbit Phase (LEOP) and satellite commissioning for customers needing operational services. Additionally, customers can license AerospaceLab's full suite of satellite management software.

For those managing their own satellite constellations, AerospaceLab provides a management console that offers real-time monitoring of ground infrastructure and space assets, facilitating automated health and performance checks with built-in security. This console is available as an on-premises software-hardware package.

The company's Data Collection Software allows access to historical data archives and priority data capture, meeting near real-time data requirements. This software is offered as an on-premises solution for private constellations or as a SaaS for AerospaceLab's global constellation.

In April 2024, the company acquired AMOS, a provider of marine offshore solutions, to improve its capabilities in advanced space technologies by integrating AMOS' capabilities with Aerospacelab's extensive portfolio of satellite platforms, avionics, and subsystems; the acquisition aimed to expand market reach and product offerings.

The company claims that its Belgium-based factory with a production capacity of up to 500 satellites per year from its future megafactory (scheduled for 2026) will make it the largest manufacturer in Europe and the third-largest satellite manufacturing facility in the world. In September 2024, AerospaceLab unveiled its first manufacturing facility in the US which was 3,300 sqm with a potential production capacity of two satellites per week.

Key customers and partnerships

As of June 2024, the company had launched eight satellites and had over 12 payloads in orbit.
