Based in France, Sensegrass uses its nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (NPK) sensors to deliver smart farming software solutions tackling agricultural issues such as crop disease and errant fertiliser levels. The company’s soil intelligence system, which uses AI algorithms and IoT, provides farmers with NPK fertiliser management and helps them detect crop disease to improve soil efficiency and crop yield.
The soil intelligence system includes patented NPK sensors which collect soil data in real time, detect soil NPK levels, and offer solutions concerning key factors such as appropriate water usage and fertiliser levels for improved crop yield. The sensors are equipped with nano-satellites with analytics capabilities to provide precision farming solutions. The company’s machine learning algorithm eliminates human involvement while its use of AI data analytics generates precision farming solutions. The company claims that its sensors facilitate 43% increases in data prediction accuracy, 35% increases in crop yield, and a 13% decrease in pesticide use.
The company offers three types of soil sensors ranging from USD 299 - 2,499. Its portable soil sensor is priced at USD 299, IoT soil sensor at USD 899, and Autonomous Farm Rover (AFR) at USD 2,499. The company’s basic software solution, which comes with two hardware devices, is free of charge. The standalone version of the software is priced at USD 1,500 while the enterprise alternative costs USD 20,000 per year.
The firm raised USD 100,000 in a January 2021 seed round with Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator serving as key investor.
