Founded by Joanna Smith in 2015, AllHere Education provides AllHere, a cloud-based student attendance intervention management solution for K-12 schools and districts. The software allows teachers and school leaders to get involved sooner in supporting students in need of attendance intervention; thus, schools are able to track human-intensive interventions such as home visits and mentorship programs. AllHere works with districts to implement customized intervention strategies and create plans for family engagement to improve student attendance. In 2020, the company acquired EdNudge, a technology product that helps improve K-12 attendance through automated text messages, developed by Dr. Peter Bergman at Columbia University's Teachers College.
In June 2021, the company raised USD 8 million in Series A funding to expand the functionality of the company’s conversational artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, used by schools to engage with students and parents to address attendance. The chatbot is reportedly the first of its kind in the K-12 market. These functions include retention, enrollment, and planning for college or post-secondary education.
Attendance is the foremost indicator of student success in K-12 education. Therefore, AllHere’s chatbot, which provides 24/7 support through personalized, two-way text messages, was quickly adopted by schools during the Covid-19 pandemic to address virtual learning-related issues in attendance and engagement. Besides using AllHere to prompt students to attend class, schools can use the service to communicate essential information as well. As of June 2021, 8,000 schools across 34 states use AllHere, up from 1,100 schools at the start of the pandemic—an increase of more than 600% YoY. The company’s revenue also grew more than 700% in the last year. In August 2021, AllHere launched an advisory board comprising industry leaders from research and education to support the company and drive insights.
