Uproot is a non-dairy milk startup focusing on multi-variety plant-based milk dispensers placed in large food services such as college dining halls, hospitals, corporate cafeterias and coffee shops to distribute its products. As of February 2021, Uproot has introduced five flavours, almond milk, coconut milk, soy milk, oat milk and chocolate pea milk.
A member of the 2018 cohort for Brown University's Breakthrough Lab, Uproot Initially started production from the Hope & Main shared kitchen in Rhode Island and later outsourced the production to co-packers as demand rose. In 2019, the Sharpe Refectory Dining Hall at the university began offering Uproot’s oat, coconut, almond and chocolate pea milk from Uproot’s dispenser. The company marked its first installation by piloting its dispensers in the dining halls of Brown after testing events at the Salve Regina University, and the Johnson and Wales University.
