SimpliiGood, owned by Algaecore Technologies Ltd., specializes in developing whole-food meat and fish alternatives using spirulina microalgae. The company cultivates its proprietary strain of fresh spirulina in greenhouse ponds located in Ra'anana, Israel, using a sustainable process that recycles 98% of water and captures carbon during growth. 

As of 2023, the company produces 50 tons of spirulina annually through daily harvests. Its flagship product is fresh frozen spirulina, which differs from traditional dried powdered forms. Using IP-protected technologies, SimpliiGood transforms spirulina into various meat and fish analogs. Its product portfolio includes chicken nuggets containing 80% spirulina with prebiotic fibers and a whole-cut smoked salmon analog made with fewer than 10 "kitchen cupboard" ingredients, offering 40% protein content. The salmon alternative achieves its texture through a proprietary texturization platform, while its orange color comes from isolating spirulina's native beta-carotene pigment. The company leverages a unique platform that transforms microalgae cells into filaments that emulate muscle fibers, making its products resilient to heat, freeze-thaw cycles, pressure, and pH variations.

Key customers and partnerships

In April 2022, SimpliiGood partnered with IFF-DuPont's FoodNxt innovation lab, where IFF contributes flavor and aroma attributes to SimpliiGood's products. In January 2023, SimpliiGood formed a strategic partnership with Haifa Group to optimize spirulina production and strengthen its supply chain. Under this collaboration, both companies planned to build side-by-side production facilities in the Negev Desert. The company launched its frozen spirulina products in the US in 2024, initially through online channels and select specialized health store franchises.
