Israeli-based RoadSense Advanced Technologies provides a Platform as a Service (PaaS) solution providing insights for transport operators and city planners for mobility management and to enhance the development of smart cities. RoadSense’s radar based sensor technology, Roadbox can be used to gather a variety of data such as people, vehicles, and micro mobility in public spaces in a privacy preserving manner. The data is then processed on the cloud to generate insights about the residents flow into the cities, bicycle lanes monitoring, violent incidents, and car accidents, either through an API or directly to the computer with the real-time dashboard.
RoadSense claims that its solutions helps to improve the safety of the cities, facilitate advanced city planning, improve the general well-being of the residents, reduce fatalities, and help the cities achieve the Net-Zero 2050 targets. The firm also claims that RoadSense’s hardware devices can easily be installed as roadside units that are equipped with an energy generator to support the device’s energy and is capable of collectings data from public spaces wirelessly under any weather condition
Key customers and partnerships
As of August 2023, RoadSense had more than 770 users including city municipalities and has conducted 240 projects in 53 cities. It’s partners include Highroad, the Israel Innovation Authority, Connect Americas, Capital Nature, City Zone, and Nvidia.
Funding and financials
RoadSense had raised a total of USD 860,000 from two funding rounds during August 2020 and April 2019. Capital Nature, is the lead investor who funded the seed round and Highroad was involved in the pre seed funding.
