Space Cargo Unlimited (SCU) is a French company that, as of 2024, was seeking to be a commercial operator of a fleet of autonomous space cargo vehicles. The company’s first product REV1–a floating space factory–is a pressurized space vehicle designed to meet the needs of industrial players and researchers alike who wish to take advantage of microgravity to foster solutions for earth-based problems. REV1–which was slated to launch in late 2025–is designed to be reusable for up to 20 missions with ability to spend two to three months in space. It would also provide infrastructure for specific missions in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and new materials.
