Based in the UK, wamo offers digital banking services to SMEs. It offers multi-currency (EUR and GBP) business accounts inclusive of a debit card, which allows businesses to receive and make local as well as international payments. It also allows companies to issue virtual and physical business debit cards for its employees, which are linked to specific sub-accounts with spending limits. Moreover, wamo also offers a marketplace called “wamo Connect,” which provides SMEs with access to various services, including accountancy platforms, domain hosting, and marketing agencies.
The company offers its services through a tiered subscription pricing model, featuring plans that start at EUR 19.99 per month for micro businesses, EUR 49.99 per month for medium-sized businesses, and EUR 99.99 per month for medium-sized and large businesses. In addition, it charges account opening, debit card issuance, and local transfer fees under the micro plan, while these are provided free under other plans. However, wamo charges a fixed fee on international transfers and ATM withdrawals in all plans.
wamo obtained its EU Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license from Finland's Financial Supervisory Authority in July 2024. Leveraging this, the company planned to accelerate entry into new markets like Finland, Italy, and Sweden, and expand its pan-European growth strategy, while reducing partner dependencies.
Key customers and partnerships

The company partnered with Modulr for its Banking-as-a-Service solutions and aimed to leverage the partnership to expand its presence in the EU and the UK, as well as to develop new credit products and USD accounts.
