Hidden Level

Hidden Level is a sensor technology company specializing in airspace monitoring solutions. Their flagship offering, the Airspace Monitoring Service (AMS), leverages proprietary passive radio frequency (RF) sensor technology to detect, track, and identify small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) and manned aircraft operating at low altitudes. The AMS utilizes a network of sensors installed on buildings, rooftops, and cell towers to provide real-time location data on aircraft operations.

The company's technology does not rely on intercepting or decrypting communications, ensuring compliance with privacy laws and regulations. Instead, it analyzes the physical characteristics and direction of transmitted RF signals to estimate the location and attributes of the transmitting source. This approach allows Hidden Level to detect and monitor both compliant and non-compliant drone operations, providing a comprehensive solution for airspace awareness.

Hidden Level's AMS is designed as a cloud-based, scalable solution, eliminating the need for customers to purchase, configure, or maintain expensive sensor hardware. Clients receive streaming AMS data that can be integrated into various security platforms, enabling real-time monitoring and threat mitigation. As of December 2022, Hidden Level's technology was recognized by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as being capable of tracking and validating drones, irrespective of their compliance with the Remote Identification (RID) mandate.

In May 2023, Hidden Level secured a USD 10 million funding from the US Department of Defense (DoD) through the Accelerate the Procurement and Fielding of Innovating Technologies (APFIT) program. This funding will accelerate the deployment of Hidden Level's Tactical Passive Radar for Counter Unmanned Air Systems (UAS) to the US Army.
