GigXR offers a mixed reality (MR) learning platform geared toward healthcare training and education. The majority of its apps developed were in collaboration with notable organizations in the healthcare field. The company’s two flagship products are as follows:
1) HoloHuman, an app (developed in collaboration with Elsevier) that provides an MR full-body cadaver for students to explore different regions and structures of the body.
2) HoloPatient, an app that provides holographic simulations of standardized patient scenarios to improve student patient diagnostic skills.
Other platforms for healthcare training include the following:
1) HoloScenarios: Respiratory Module (developed in collaboration with the University of Cambridge and Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust) for respiratory clinical scenarios.
2) Insight Heart, Insight Kidney, and Insight Lung (developed in collaboration with Anima Res), which provide macroscopic and microscopic journeys through the human heart, kidney, and lungs.
3) HoloScenarios: BLS (developed in collaboration with Morlen Health) for basic life support clinical scenarios.
These apps can be accessed via Microsoft’s HoloLens 2 or via a mobile device, while also sharing training sessions and simulations with other participants.
The company also enables third-party developers to add and license apps within its “Immersive Learning” platform via a software development kit (SDK). Additionally, the company offers a more resilient version of its platform to meet the needs of the Department of Defense and government agencies. Connectivity to the platform is preserved via edge computing in areas with poor internet connection capabilities while simultaneously collecting data at scale.
