DeepFactor’s AppSec platform delivers 360 degrees of runtime visibility and control throughout the DevOps pipeline of cloud-native applications. This enables AppSec teams and engineering teams to identify supply chain, security, privacy, and compliance risks to secure both in-house applications and third-party components. The company’s self-hosted platform automatically observes billions of live telemetry data across more than 170 parameters in threads and processes of containers, Kubernetes, and Docker applications. Through this, it can detect code anomalies during testing, staging, and production with a single command and zero code changes. The data is also stored in a portal within a user-defined retention period that allows companies to investigate past behaviors and gain insights based on trends over time. AppSec teams can establish data governance, guardrails, and prioritize alert policies based on threshold triggers such as bad behaviors. The company provides insights to a company’s existing SAST (static application security testing), SCA (software composition analysis), and DAST (dynamic application security testing) toolset with reduced alert fatigue and reduced MTTR (mean-time-to-remediate).

DeepFactor integrates with developer tools such as AWS, CircleCI, Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, CloudBees, Swagger, and Travis CI, and provides its platform for businesses at a minimum of USD 800 per month for 20 developers.

By September 2021, the company had served over 20 enterprise clients in the media, information technology, software-as-a-service, and public sectors, and had plans to expand its headcount from 20 employees to 30 in the areas of engineering, sales, and marketing across the US and India.

In September 2021, the company raised USD 15 million in a Series A funding round led by Insight Partners. The company expected to direct the funds towards the development of its continuous AppSec Observability platform, launch a SaaS (software-as-a-service) solution, and expand product development in privacy, compliance, and CI/CD integration.
