Telstra Corporation Limited (ASX: TLS) is Australia's largest telecommunications company, providing mobile, internet, and other communications services across the country. Founded in 1975 as the Australian Telecommunications Commission, Telstra traces its roots back to Australia's original telegraph and postal services established in 1901.

Telstra operates Australia's largest mobile network, covering 99.5% of the population with its 3G and 4G services. The company is also rolling out 5G technology, with coverage reaching over 85% of Australians. In addition to mobile services, Telstra provides fixed-line broadband internet, pay television through its stake in Foxtel, and various enterprise and wholesale telecommunications solutions.

As of 2024, Telstra has approximately 18.8 million retail mobile services and 3.4 million retail bundle and data services in Australia. The company reported total revenue of AUD 23.2 billion for the 2023 fiscal year. While once fully government-owned, Telstra was privatized in stages between 1997 and 2011 and is now a publicly-traded company. Telstra continues to be a dominant force in Australia's telecommunications landscape, though it faces increasing competition from other providers using its wholesale network.
