Monarch Tractor, founded in 2018 and headquartered in Livermore, California, is revolutionizing the agriculture industry with its MK-V tractor - the world's first fully electric, driver-optional, smart tractor. The MK-V combines electrification, automation, machine learning, and data analysis to enhance farming operations. It features a 40-70 horsepower electric drivetrain, zero tailpipe emissions, and can operate for 10+ hours on a single charge. The tractor is equipped with advanced technologies including a 360-degree camera system, autonomous capabilities, and AI-powered software that can process up to 240 GB of crop data daily.

As of July 2024, Monarch had deployed over 400 tractors across 12 states in the US and three countries. The company aims to address key challenges faced by farmers including labor shortages, sustainability demands, and thin profit margins. Monarch's tractors can potentially save farmers up to USD 79,000 annually in fuel costs and USD 200,000 in labor costs. The MK-V also doubles as a portable power source and generator, storing up to 100 kWh of energy. In December 2022, Monarch began commercial production of the MK-V at Foxconn's Ohio facility, with a base price of USD 50,000. The company has expanded its focus beyond vineyards to serve dairy farms, airports, and other agricultural sectors.
