Industrial Climate Solutions (ICS) develops technologies to capture and store carbon. The company focuses on chemical capture of CO2 (via conventional, precipitating, and non-aqueous solvents) and conversion processes with mineralization and biological pathways (such as bacteria and algae).
The Canadian company uses an innovative Regenerative Froth Contractor (RFC) to capture and absorb CO2, which it reports to be more efficient than traditional absorption methods. Further, this method has a higher tolerance for high levels of entrained or precipitated solids, an otherwise key constraint faced by traditional forms of absorption.
The company’s only funding event on record was a January 2019 pre-seed round. As of November 2021, the company has yet to commercialize its technology, although it launched a pilot-scale froth contractor for a client in October 2020.
