Ageras

Ageras is a freelancer marketplace which is majority-owned by Investcorp Technology Partners. It allows businesses to connect with vetted independent talent in areas such as accounting, bookkeeping, auditing, and financial services. Based on the client requirement, Ageras provides the option to compare and select one of three freelancers personally matched by the platform. The platform is free-to-use for clients and a subscription fee is charged from its freelance accountants. Ageras’ offering also includes a suite of tools targeting small and medium enterprises (SMEs), including cloud-based accounting and payroll software. As of February 2022, the company had 250+ employees and 5,000+ freelancers, serving more than 200,000 users across Denmark, the US, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, and Germany.

Funding and financials

In May 2024, Ageras raised EUR 82 million (~USD 89 million) in its latest investment round, which saw participation from Investcorp, Folketrygdfondet, and Lazard. The raised funds are intended to be used to acquire other businesses that align with its vision of becoming a market leader.
