Monzo teardown: A fully fledged banking app for digital natives
Monzo is a UK-based neobank that serves both the B2C and B2B segments. For retail customers, it provides checking accounts, debit cards, and free P2P transfers, while subscription-paying users receive additional perks such as interest on checking accounts, insurance, and virtual cards. As part of its lending portfolio, it provides personal loans, overdraft facilities, and a buy now, pay later (BNPL) offering. For business customers, Monzo offers basic commercial banking services, with multi-user accounts, invoice management, and accounting software connections available under a subscription plan. Our content partner Sacra’s company teardown (July 2022) takes a deeper look at Monzo’s financials, business model, acquisitions, competitive environment, and market opportunities.
