Cerebras: The computer chip developer for accelerating complex AI workloads

Cerebras Systems is a provider of AI hardware and computing services, with a focus on wafer-scale technology designed for AI tasks. The company also offers Cerebras AI Model Studio, a cloud-based, pay-per-model computing service powered by clusters of Cerebras CS-2 systems using the latest WSE chips.
  • Cerebras Systems developed the Wafer-scale Engine (WSE) chips to accelerate deep learning, with the WSE-2 (2021) featuring 850,000 programmable cores and 20 petabytes per second memory bandwidth. The WSE-3 (2024) doubles performance, with nearly 1 million cores, 4 trillion transistors, 125 petaflops speed, and 21 petabytes per second memory bandwidth.
  • Cerebras WSE chips uniquely feature independently programmable cores, specifically optimized for AI workloads.
  • Notable key customers include AstraZeneca, Lawrence Livermore, GlaxoSmithKline, and Mayo Clinic, among others. As of September 2024, the company had raised USD 715 million in total funding.
