Brave: The free, open-source privacy-focused web browser
Brave offers a free, open-source web browser that blocks third-party ads and trackers. Its browser allows users to cloak internet browsing activity and bypass content restrictions by providing the ability to route internet traffic through the Tor network.
Brave’s privacy-focused open-source web browser blocks advertisements and trackers. The browser conceals the internet browsing activities of its users.
The browser also has non-targeted ads instead where users are rewarded with the Basic Attention Token (BAT), Brave’s own cryptocurrency, for viewing the ad. Users can then either withdraw the BATs or use them to support publishers of their choice from a list of registered publishers.
As of August 2024, Brave had ~70 million monthly active users, with over 1.8 million verified creators registered on its platform.
