Karakuri, a London-based food robotics company, has partnered with British online supermarket Ocado and facilities management services company Atalian Servest to deploy its “Semblr 1” food robot (formerly known as DK-One) at Ocado headquarters, serving up to 4,000 employees. This marks the company’s first large-scale deployment.
For the Ocado arrangement, the robot will be configured to make Asian fusion bowls using 17 different customizable ingredients. It can prepare up to 110 meals per hour and up to four meals simultaneously.
The facility will also act as a robot testing environment for Karakuri.
