CLMBR, a manufacturer of interactive climbing machines, has raised USD 13.5 million in a funding round with participation from 29 investors, including celebrities like Pitbull and Jay-Z, tennis player Novak Djokovic, and YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley. The round was initially announced in March.
The company intends to utilize the new funds to expand its team to 60 by the end of the year (doubling the headcount), invest in inventory and technology, and open new headquarters in Denver.
CLMBR offers a patent-pending vertical climbing machine that features a large-format touch display with on-demand classes. The device provides a combination of high-intensity cardio and resistance strength training. The company has been registering customer preorders since August 2020, with expectations to deliver the product later this month. To date, the company has received orders for “several thousand” units, including 600 units sold via a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo in December 2020.
