Infarm, a Berlin-based startup that produces modular growing systems for rent, is reported to be in talks with Kernel Group Holdings to go public via a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC).
The possible transaction is likely to value the combined company at over USD 1 billion. Following the news, Kernel Group’s share price increased by 1.3%.
In April 2021, Infarm hired Goldman Sachs to discuss the possibility of going public via a SPAC.
Founded in 2013, Infarm operates a farming-as-a-service model that sets it apart from competitors. The company has a presence in Germany, the US, Canada, France, the UK, and Japan.
