Hyzon Motors (Hyzon), a developer of commercial hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (FCEVs), has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Shanghai Hydrogen HongYun Automotive, a logistics company with a focus on FCEVs, to supply 500 hydrogen-powered tractor trucks. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
As per the agreement, Hyzon expects the initial order of 100 vehicles this year and the order for the remaining 400 in 2022.
Hyzon notes that since hydrogen fuel cell technology is highly adopted in China, it would allow the company to gather the experience and expertise needed to scale operations globally.
