Pyrowave, a leading Canadian plastic and chemical recycling company, has received a USD 7 million credit facility from the Quebec Government as funding under its ESSOR Program. The program was created to accelerate the growth of Quebec companies by providing financing and necessary support.
The fresh funds will be allocated to expand the company’s pilot plant in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, which recycles post-consumer plastic into styrene using microwave technology. The funds will also be used to improve its technology and recruit more employees.
The funding follows the company’s recent joint product development agreement with tire manufacturer Michelin in France. Pyrowave plans to further expand its technology presence internationally and is looking at opportunities to collaborate with local suppliers to commercialize its technology and platform.
